Wadi Rum Desert. June 2023.

Me in Wadi Rum desert, somewhere in the protected area in the Bedouin Tent, far from camps and even further from any civilization 😀Alone, late afternoon, almost time when it gets dark…

My bed prepared (always before it gets dark and before I don`t see a thing 😅): I take my mattress, blankets, pillow, water, my purse, my creams, my beauty case (basically all that I have) and I leave it next to my “bed” just in case. Oh, and I look for my shoes, since I love walking barefoot during the day here in the Wadi Rum desert when the sand is not too hot, but when the dark comes: better not barefoot, you never know what you can step on in the darkness 👣

So, I am walking around and preparing to go and relax in my bed (the view is really spectacular, and when the stars come out it is : WOWWWWWWW view), when I see this little black something on the mountain rock just behind my bed. Hmmm… closer inspection and no, it is not a beetle, it is indeed a scorpion, just like in a book. A perfect little tiny black scorpion. OMG

Now what should I do???!!! Hmmm… I mean I am at his territory, Wadi Rum Desert and the Protected Area, that is his home, I am just an invader. Right? I mean PEOPLE are already everywhere, at least leave us the wild desert (the scorpion must have thought 🤔)

I am already feeling VERY BAD, because I really don’t want to kill him, but I will not sleep if he runs free and hides… Omg. Now what do I do??? Ok: first lets take a picture of the beautiful scorpion😁… Aixxxx, but I have no phone with me since I left it in the car to download all my WhatsApp’s when the car is in “coverage zone” 😂 (you never know, there might be some WhatsApp’s, if not important, at least interesting ones😀)

Ok, no so picture. Now, I will have to kill it. But HOW??? BIIIGGG problem. I have NO IDEA HOW and with WHAT??!! I have NOTHING within the reach of my hands, and I CAN NOT LEAVE THE scorpion out of my sight! Imagine it escapes! I will not sleep at all, not to mention I could not even sit anywhere in the darkness, he could be anywhere… OMG, OMFG.

Concentration and most important not to loose the scorpion out of sight. Shoe! No, it is plastic and I have no idea how hard the scorpion might be, maybe hard as stone and then my ONLY shoe will be broken and the scorpion will be still alive and GOD knows maybe he will be VERY MAD WITH ME!!! (not only the scorpion, but also GOD).

Oh! Luckily I collect stones and I have some nice big ones, in HEART shape, they are in the niche in the mountain just on top of the scorpion. I grab the biggest and I think: Now how do I do it? Do scorpion run? Fast? Maybe he jumps at me if I miss it? Do they fly? There are like flying spiders, right?! No idea. So, whatever: my plan was to throw the stone at him, from as far as possible 😅.

Uff, I get ready. First of all I excuse myself for having to kill you and “saludo tu christo interior” (for some reason it came to me to say it), and finally I throw the stone with as much force and precision as possible at the scorpion (I must say I was just a little step away from him 😁 but I am very poor thrower: at school I hit a window during a ball game 🤫).

And I MISSED IT! OMFG!!! Now what, quick, he might be VERY MAD and escape in the very far corner of Wadi Rum Desert or into my zone. But no. He was relaxed as he was while ago 😂. It is now or never, now I had no other choice so I took the stone out of the sand and I started hitting the scorpion with it, until he was not a scorpion shape anymore 😥.

Yes, I did it. I dint really feel relieved. I felt pretty strange to kill this beautiful scorpion, that was just sitting there and meditated. But next day I saw I made the aunts very happy: when I woke up: there were many aunts around the dead body, and there was nothing left of the black shell, and after a while the entire “crime scene in Wadi Rum Desert” was as clean as before: not a sign of what happened!

For all that just got scared and are thinking OMG A SCORPION: it will not kill you if he stings you, you will feel sick with fever for few days, but you will be fine… And seriously: I am in the desert for so long and it is the first and last time I saw a scorpion 😀.

And YES: the scorpion for some reason is “HE”, for me at least, a masculin energy, like the desert and all around here. So if you are coming to Wadi Rum Desert, prepare to work all your masculin Energy aspects, the ones that you are missing, but also your femenine energy weeknesses or strengths… the best place to see how balanced within you are … 

Nature, it all takes it turns and there is place for everyone everywhere… Sometimes we just need to find our place and time for what we would like to do…. and the first step maybe it is to be with YOURSELF, to connect with YOUR heart, to feel what YOU really like…
